Submitted nomination:

"Michael is a true visionary.  He sees connections that most people just plain miss.  When it comes to passion, there are few people I have encountered that even approach Michael's level.  Beyond that, he has been researching global education and inventing new ways to look at the entire issue, breaking through the barriers, both old and new... ultimately delivering a universal education platform that can link young people together to learn from each other as well as from uniquely-search-able multimedia web resources.

I have personal experience with Michael's delivery and his ability to communicate and get a vision across is powerfully unique. Powerful, exciting and engaging, and chock full of insight and depth. The world cannot do without a global education initiative that is deliverable and fundable. And Michael proposes one. "

If yes, please describe this person's speaking style.

Powerful and passionate verging on the evangelical. It is obvious from his videos he passionate about what he is doing and the message he want to share.

How do you think this person would best fit with the conference theme, "And Now The Good News ..."?

The good news as Trout put's it, is that we can flatten global education and make if tree and accessible to all, and India or China will most likely lead the way. Trout has a clear vision on how to bring it about as he discusses in his India prospectus.  The good news is that the only thing stopping educaiton from bring free and accessible to all is a pervasive cultural paradigm that thinks that it cant be. He plans to change that and TED can help him do it.
